We design, manufacture and market innovative woodworking products
Thirty-nine years woodworking and still find it enjoyable.
In the late 1970s, at age 23, I built a simple pine bookshelf and small outdoor patio table for my wife. My tool box consisted of a hammer, tape measure, circular saw, corded hand drill, misc. screw drivers, wrenches, and a craftsman hand saw I inherited from my father.
All my woodworking projects were made in the basement of an apartment building.
On weekends I would descend into the dark, damp, musty cavern during daylight hours.
The area was lit by a single light bulb and one small rectangular window to the outside world. Fortunately, my eyesight back then was exceptional.
Fast forward to 2022:
I still work with wood in a basement, but now I have lots more machinery and tools, and much better lighting. This is good, as my eye sight is no longer exceptional.
I mostly use SolidWorks solid modeling CAD software to design my projects. Multiple
FDM printers that I use to develop, test and make finished products.
For me, working with wood is almost a spiritual endeavor. Shaping and creating something new and unique with my hands brings me to a special place. It's a way of expressing myself visually, so that others may find inspiration and joy.
If you also work with wood, you probably feel something similar about your creations. Each one is unique and has a story to tell.
When showing your work to others, never, ever point out your errors
or mistakes. Your admirers will probably not even notice them. Instead, they might think you exceptional.
Thank you for reading my story.
